ESA were appointed to design the retail expansion of the established shopping centre. ESA also took on the role of lead consultant in managing the design evolution of the wider masterplan including retail expansion, high-density residential development, remodelling of public realm and integration of new LUL station entrance and ticket hall.

ESA took on the responsibility of managing the interfaces between the different elements of the scheme and coordinating this with a variety of stakeholders.

The proposed design of the retail elevation, lining the town square, seeks to incorporate traditional east London ‘high street’ elevational patterns and classical civic building character unified with contemporary detailing and materials.

The project has recently started on site and phase one works are due for completion in Q4 2024, with the next retail phases following on after.
