Our design team has successfully obtained planning permission for this high quality contemporary office building situated predominantly within the green belt to the west of London.
The scheme comprises a pavilion-type HQ office which will replace a larger, outdated, office building.
Delivering clean efficient floorplates within wings of two and three storeys respectively, and arranged around a central glazed ‘street’, the design solution has facilitated the reduction of the overall mass of the proposal on this sensitive site and returned open space back to the greenbelt.
Given the potential sensitivities of the site the project has been, from the outset, environmentally driven deploying a ‘green and lean’ approach to the building and its environmental design.
The development aims for a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating including green roofs, substantial renewable energy technology and a series of passive environmental measures.
The development scenario also included the gaining of planning consent for a residential enclave on the adjoining site which was successfully sold on by the developer with the benefit of this valuable consent. This has now been successfully built out by others.
