ESA Architects have been instructed to design the second phase of Cortland Cassiobury. This will complete the 800 unit, Build-to-Rent scheme in West Watford.
The proposal looks to optimise two unused brownfield sites adjacent to phase 1. A new, partially pedestrianised avenue connects the two phases. The avenue integrates pedestrians, cycles and vehicles with hard/soft landscape to create a new, vibrant tree lined street, flanked with restaurants and other amenities. The residents will benefit from shared amenities across all 3 sites. This will include a raised, shared landscaped amenity deck connecting to street level, containing co-working, gym, creche, cinema rooms, meeting rooms and social/event space.
