Matt Thomas

Associate Director

Matt joined the Percy Thomas Architects branch of the business in 2001, becoming Associate in 2013 and Associate Director in 2021. Over his time in practice, he has worked extensively in the Transport, Cultural and Education sectors. Based in the Cardiff Studio, he is currently the key design lead in the Redstart Framework, our joint venture with Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend Councils.

Matt has been involved with the successful delivery of the Merthyr Bus Interchange, which was awarded the CEW Sustainable Project of the Year 2021 and Building Project of the Year 2022. He is also currently leading Porth Transport Hub, which is already being viewed as an exemplar project for LUF applications.

Whilst having experience of working across multiple sectors, Matt is currently working exclusively within Local Government as a key Client Liaison and has developed close working relationships with several Welsh Government and Council Leaders. It is through these strong connections and the successful delivery of key projects that these relationships have blossomed and continue to grow.
