3 - 4 Bentinck
Location: 3-4 Bentinck St, London
Client: HDWE
Status: Completed 2009
Size: 1,500 sq m
ESA have completed this new-build insertion into the heritage streetscape of Marylebone by combining two Georgian terraced plots into one, thus providing the client with larger, efficient office floorplates. The 1,500 sq m building rises to five storeys and takes the footprint of two old adjoining terraced houses. There is a glass link to a mews building at the rear.
The completed building incorporates ground source heating and cooling and it has achieved a BREEAM “very good” rating.
The main elevation is formed in a brick, matching adjacent properties, while the “internal” elevations are a combination of coated steel and white bricks. The front and back facade also consists of architectural metalwork designed by local artists.
