63 St Mary Axe
Location: The City of London
Client: Moorevale/Rockspring
Status: Completed 2013
Size: 7,500 sq m
We completed the extensive refurbishment of this tired 1980’s building at 63 St Mary Axe in the City in 2013 for developer Moorevale with Rockspring.
The existing building is situated within a congested location and required careful planning to ensure the efficient management of construction logistics, together with a sensitive approach to minimising disruption to the occupying tenants and their subsequent relocation.
With a full Cat A fit-out, the rejuvenated building once again offers a modern and comfortable working environment, whilst meeting high sustainability targets and BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards.
Work included incorporating two additional upper floors of office space, the complete overhaul of all the common parts, the reception on the ground floor and a new main building entrance off Camomile Street. The main contractor was Sisk and the client’s structural and services consultant was Meinhardt.
