Philip joined ESA in 1974, was made Partner in 1979 and Director in 1984. From 1990 to 2004 he undertook the role of Chief Executive. Philip is also a Director of ESPM, an associated project management consultancy, and an experienced Adjudicator.

His particular expertise is in the design and management of large projects. He has experience in shopping centre new build and refurbishment, major corporate buildings, hotels, leisure schemes and public buildings.

Recent and current major schemes include a 250,000 sq ft retail and leisure shopping centre extension in Edgware, a mixed-use scheme of 240,000 sq ft in Cheltenham town centre and the refurbishment of the Grade 1 listed Chandos House in central London.
